Sisters!

If you have a sister, then you know there is nothing quite like it! Sisters are the BEST, but also the worst because they always steal your shit! Haha! I can’t begin to tell you how close I am with both of my baby sisters! I thank the Lord for them everyday, all day! Both of them are so special to me in such different ways, and I can’t imagine life without them. I remember when I was little I would always ask my mom for a baby sister, she would tell me NO!! We have a boy and a girl and we are done. I would then ask, “Can we go to the place where you line them up and pick one out?” As a child, I thought this was how adoption worked since I had only ever adopted a pet. My mom explained that was not at all how adoption worked and that they were not having or adopting anymore children. I then told my mom I would pray about it, to which she responded “Go right ahead!” Not sure why my bible thumping holy roller mom threatened me with a good time, because within a few short months my mom was expecting a baby. When she broke the news to me, I said, “I know, God told me, and it’s a girl too!” When she picked her jaw up off the floor she said, “Well it could be a boy too, Sarah!” I said, “Nope, God told me it’s a girl, that’s what I prayed for!” She was terrified that if it wasn’t a girl, I was going to lose all my faith and possibly try and give the baby back or drown it! I would NEVER do that, but she was hormonal and crazy! Everyday she would tell me the baby could be a boy, and I would respond, “Mom, why don’t you believe me? It’s a girl!” She would just nervously laugh and continue driving me to school. When the sonogram determined she was a girl, my mom was so relieved and we were all super excited! I always knew that was my sister in there! I am so blessed that Rachel came into my life and that five years later my silly parents had another oops baby, Hannah. My mom said apparently I prayed so hard God gave me two sisters! I like to think that anyway! My sisters couldn’t be more different people or less like me, but I love them from the bottom of my heart and love them both for who they are! I feel blessed to have a support system and lifelong best friends that I call my sisters! Thanks mom and dad and the good Lord for not only one, but two amazing beautiful sisters. I wouldn’t want to do life without them!
